Freeze & Unfreeze Panes in Excel

Freezing panes in Microsoft Excel allows you to keep certain rows or columns visible on the screen as you scroll through the rest of the worksheet. This can be useful for keeping a header row or column visible, so you can see the labels for the data you are looking at.

Here's how to freeze panes in Excel:

    1. Select the row below the rows you want to freeze or the column to the right of the columns you want to freeze.
    2. Go to the View tab in the ribbon and click the "Freeze Panes" button.
    3. Select "Freeze Panes" or "Freeze Top Row" (to freeze the top row) or "Freeze First Column" (to freeze the first column).

To unfreeze the panes, go to the View tab in the ribbon, and click the "Freeze Panes" button. Then select "Unfreeze Panes."

Note: You can also freeze panes by right-clicking on the selected cell and choosing "Freeze Panes" from the context menu. Additionally, if you have already frozen panes, the Freeze Panes button will display "Unfreeze Panes" and you can select it to unfreeze.
